The harsh winter has taken its toll on the UK private equity market, with another quarterly slump in deal values and a complete lack of large-cap transactions.

According to data provider Dealogic, UK buyouts slumped to $1.6bn across 33 deals in the first quarter of this year from $11.59bn across 43 deals in last year's fourth quarter.
