UK charitable giving drops in 2011

Charitable donations fall 12% as the economy weighs on personal wealth

The average charitable donation in the UK dropped 12% to £186.15 per person in 2011, as the stormy economy made donors hesitant to give, according to a report by Investec Bank.

The report, published Tuesday, is the latest in a string of studies on charitable giving that show donations falling across a variety of income classes in the UK in the last two years.
