UK Covid-19 alert level raised to level four as fears grow of second lockdown

Prime minister Boris Johnson is giving a statement on the UK's coronavirus plan on 22 September

The UK’s Covid-19 alert level has been raised to level four, the UK’s Joint Biosecurity Centre said.

Threat level four means a Covid-19 epidemic is in general circulation and transmission is high or rising exponentially.
