City hiring received a welcome boost from last month's UK general election, with job vacancies rising for the first time in months, according to recruitment firm Morgan McKinley.

The number of available financial services jobs rose 3% in June compared with the previous month, Morgan McKinley's London Employment Monitor shows, while the number of professionals looking for work increased by 5%.
