Around 64% of UK finance directors broadly support proposals for changes to institutional fund management produced by the Myners' report, according to a survey by Barclays Global Investors.
Their support is important because in the government-commissioned review of the investment market, Paul Myners, chairman of Gartmore Investment Management, has proposed that companies sponsoring pension fund should be more proactive in boosting resources used by trustees. In particular trustees should be allocated more time and resources for investment manager selection, as well as other issues.
