UK firms go on acquisition trail after floating

More than half the UK companies that floated in the last five years made a subsequent acquisition, according to new research from Ernst & Young, the professional services firm.

The report found that companies in software and computer services, media and photography and support services were particularly active in making acquisitions. Companies on the main market made more acquisitions than those listed on AIM, the London Stock Exchange's smaller companies market.
