UK fund management body rejects activist proposals

The Investment Management Association (IMA) of the UK has said that the government's proposed shareholder activism legislation will be more of a hindrance than a help.

The proposals follow recommendations set out in the Myners' report, and will heap more legislation on pension funds which are already straining to cope with the current regulatory burden.
