UK government needs to set out a ‘detailed plan’ for economic recovery, says City of London Corporation

'We urgently need to get as much of the economy operating as possible to protect livelihoods and help pay for the vast amount of support handed out over the last twelve months,' Catherine McGuinness said

The Square Mile’s governing body has called on the government to set out a “detailed plan” outlining how the economy can recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are reportedly in the deepest recession for 300 years, and urgently need to get as much of the economy operating as possible to protect livelihoods and help pay for the vast amount of support handed out over the last twelve months,” said the City of London Corporation policy chair Catherine McGuinness in a 17 February statement.
