UK government urged to review personal investment products

Paul Myners has told the UK government that it should initiate an independent review of capital and information flows around personal investment products available to small investors.

Myners, chairman of Gartmore Investment Management, was asked by Gordon Brown, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, to look at institutional investment in the UK and responded on Tuesday. His review also covered occupational pension schemes and life insurance companies.
