UK investigators are examining visits by Barclays chief executive Jes Staley to Jeffrey Epstein’s private Caribbean island as part of a probe into whether Staley told the truth about his association with the convicted sex offender.

In a statement, a Barclays spokesman said Staley visited the island, Little St. James, twice, both times with his wife. Neither the bank nor Staley had previously acknowledged the visits publicly.
