UK laws pressure companies to reveal carbon emissions

Pressure is mounting on companies to disclose their carbon dioxide emissions because of UK laws that came into force last month, according to consultants. Similar legislation is to be implemented in continental Europe in line with a European Union directive.

UK directors have to disclose the impact of their businesses on the environment and must disclose policies to deal with the issue, as well as their effectiveness.
