UK local authority hires Deutsche as custodian

The £240m (€376m) London Borough of Redbridge pension fund has appointed Deutsche Bank as its sole custodian following a best value review.

Prior to the review, responsibility for custodial services had been left with the pension scheme's individual investment managers. Schroder Investment Management shared management of the fund's assets with Merrill Lynch Investment Management, which used Bank of New York as its appointed custodian.
