The value of private equity deals in the UK hit a post-crisis high in the third quarter, with buyers and sellers keen to take advantage of a period of relative political calm and plentiful cheap debt.
FN's sister publication Private Equity News reports that, although deal activity typically slows over the summer, buyout shops ploughed €13.7bn into the UK between the beginning of July and end of September. This made it the biggest quarter in terms of money invested in the UK since 2008, according to data compiled by SL Capital Partners.
