The Financial Conduct Authority is weighing up whether the risky market for initial coin offerings requires further regulatory action to protect retail investors.

The UK regulator, which has responsibility for the integrity of the UK's financial system, said today that it will gather more evidence on ICOs and conduct a "deeper" examination of rapid developments in the sector.
