The UK wants Brexit talks concluded by 31 December, the British prime minister’s office said on 8 December, as the European Union signals it is willing to negotiate for “as long as necessary” to secure a deal.

It is the latest sign that deadlocked Brexit talks could continue beyond this week — previously touted by the EU and UK as a make-or-break week for the long-running negotiations on the future trading relationship between the two sides.
