The UK has made “formal offers of support” to the French and Austrian governments following a spate of terror attacks, Home Office minister James Brokenshire said, following a move to raise the UK’s own threat level from terrorism.

A shooting in Vienna on 2 November killed four people, while three people died from a knife attack in Nice a week earlier, the BBC reported. A man was also murdered in Paris in October.
