UK Treasury appoints Sir Jon Cunliffe as Bank of England deputy governor

Cunliffe, who is currently the UK's permanent representative to the European Union, will take up the post in November

The Bank of England Friday named former senior UK Treasury official Jon Cunliffe as the central bank's new deputy governor for financial stability.

Cunliffe will replace Paul Tucker, who will leave the BoE in October to become a senior fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School, the central bank said.
