UK universities begin two-week strike over pensions

Staff at more than 60 universities across the UK — including Oxford, Cambridge and the University of London — have started two weeks of strike action in protest at proposed changes to their pension arrangements.

Members of the University and College Union have walked out over proposals to switch staff enrolled in a sector-wide scheme that guarantees a certain income level to one that is more reliant on market returns.
