Unicredito's acquisition of HVB faces opposition from Croatia's central bank, unless it sells its assets in the country.

The governor of the Croatian central bank said he was unlikely to allow Unicredito to buy Splitska Banka, HVB's unit in the region, due to competition concerns, Reuters reported.
