The UK economy should breathe a huge sigh of relief at the decision taken by the board of Unilever not to pursue its plan to locate a single HQ in the Netherlands and delist the company from the FTSE100.
While they may not realise it, a majority of UK citizens will own shares in Unilever, either through their pension fund, their ISA or other long-term investments. Thanks to the decision taken, we can all continue to enjoy that exposure to a strong company with a diversified product range and leading global brands.
