US banking regulator takes first step toward changing Volcker rule

The US banking regulator has taken its first step towards changing the Volcker rule by asking for public feedback on various aspects on the regulation, Liz Hoffman and Ryan Tracy write for The Wall Street Journal.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency wants views on the rule’s definition of proprietary trading, the scope of firms subject to the rule, metrics calculated to measure banks’ compliance and restricted investment funds known as "covered funds", among other things.
