The major US buyout houses remain best positioned for future success compared with their market peers, according to the latest annual HEC Dow Jones private equity fitness ranking.

The annual study, which analyses which firms are likely to achieve success with their next funds, has revealed eight of the top 10 best-placed global firms are US firms, with just two based in Europe.
