US futures regulators allow trading in single stocks

The adoption last week of a new set of trading rules by US futures markets regulators means the US is ready to start trading single stock futures, products which have been outlawed in the US for the past 18 years.

But with the US now on course to offer trading in single stock futures later this year, trading in the product on exchanges in other markets remains low.
