US hedge fund Saba Capital Management has lost the first of several key battles it is waging against UK investment trust boards, after shareholders voted against all its proposals.

Some 65.1% of the roughly 26 million total votes cast during a specially convened meeting of Herald Investment Trust shareholders on 22 January were against the New York hedge fund’s proposal to jettison existing board members.
