The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced a number of personnel changes. The US regulator named Timothy Henseler as director of the office of legislative and intergovernmental affairs. He was formerly deputy director of the office and has served as acting director since July 2012. Merri Jo Gillette, director of the Chicago regional office, is leaving the SEC in late July after 25 years. She has headed the office since 2004. Finally, the regulator has named Julie Riewe and Marshall Sprung as co-chiefs of the division of enforcement's asset management unit, a national unit that focuses on misconduct by investment advisers, investment companies and private funds. They have been deputy chiefs since May 2012 and replace outgoing chief Bruce Karpati.
