Silver Lake Partners, a US technology buy-out group, is opening its first European office in London. Egon Durban, a founding principal and a director, is moving to the UK next month to recruit a local team.

An investor in Silver Lake's fund said: "The firm spends a lot of time in Europe so it is a logical thing for it to do."
