USS takes air traffic control stake

The pension scheme is seeking more infrastructure deals after taking a £143 million stake in UK air traffic controller Nats

The Universities Superannuation Scheme, one of the largest pension funds in the UK, is investing £143 million in a minority stake in the Nats airline traffic control business, part-privatised by the UK government in 2001.

USS said it is interested in other infrastructure deals. According to a USS spokesman, its appetite "could be considerable".
