Vanguard had the worst record for backing shareholder proposals linked to environmental and social issues in 2024, according to a ranking of global asset managers.

The Pennsylvania-headquartered firm, which oversees more than $10tn of assets, backed just one shareholder resolution out of a total of 279 last year, according to a study by responsible investment charity ShareAction.
