Vcapital, the US internet-based private capital firm, is merging with Broadmark Capital, the US investment bank and brokerage operation.

The new firm will work with private and public emerging technology companies seeking between $5m (€5.8m) and $50m in growth capital. The move comes at a time when venture capital experts predict further consolidation within their sector as returns drop.
