European venture capital activity has failed to recover from the near 12-year lows reached last year, it emerged last week.

Figures from Dow Jones VentureSource show 241 venture deals in the first three months of this year, matching the level of the previous three months, which was the weakest quarter since it began tracking activity in 2000.
