Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a US-based media and information buyout firm, has merged a data provider company in its portfolio with an investment bank services firm in order to compete with established players such as Bloomberg and Reuters.

The buyout firm is combining Hemscott, a UK-listed financial information group, with investment banking data provider i-Deal.
