Consumers in parts of the UK and Europe couldn’t use Visa cards for much of Friday after a system failure prevented transactions from being processed, the company said. The problem was resolved later in the day, The Wall Street Journal reports.
“Visa had a system failure that impacted customers across Europe,” the company said. It added that the problem was the result of a hardware failure and that the company didn’t believe it “was associated with any unauthorised access or malicious event”.
