Trustees of the British Airways' pension funds will not be resigning despite a vote of no confidence by 3,000 active pension members, who are against a merger of the firm's two schemes.
The proposed merger which is being contested by members of the £6bn British Airways pension scheme (APS), who fear loss of benefits and security if assets from its fund, which is in surplus, are combined with the New Airways pension scheme (NAPS). The proposal by trustees would create a £9bn fund.
