Wall Street resets the goal on fundraising

Goldman Sachs Group closed its sixth global fund at $20bn (€14.7bn), breaking previous fundraising records and bringing the investment bank into a new category of leveraged buyout funds.

GS Capital Partners VI is just slightly less than the combined value of its five previous global funds. Funding was sourced from institutional and high net worth clients who contributed $11bn while $9bn was raised by the company and its employees.
