Wall Street welcomes M&A law for foreigners

Wall Street trade bodies have welcomed proposed legal changes to subject foreign acquisitions of US assets to greater scrutiny following the controversy over Dubai Ports World's attempt to buy six of the country's shipping terminals last year.

Last year US politicians forced Dubai Ports World of the United Arab Emirates to abandon its bid to buy six US seaports as part of its acquisition of UK shipping company P&O after the Committee on Foreign Investments in the US approved the deal.
