The UK finance sector needs to hire or promote at least 2,300 women into senior roles in the next four years to hit ambitious targets under the government's Women in Finance Charter.

The Charter, which was set up by the Treasury in March 2016 and has 205 signatories, commits financial firms to setting voluntary targets for increasing the proportion of women in senior roles within five years.
