The UK Prime Minister’s plan to roll out a Covid-19 testing programme in schools has been put on pause as the country’s regulator has not approved the daily use of 30-minute tests.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency would not authorise the fast tests due to concerns that they give people false reassurance if they test negative, leading the virus to potentially spread more easily. The news was first revealed by The Guardian.
