Waters quits FSA over uncertain future

Asset management champion and one of the fiercest critics of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers directive, is leaving the regulator after 13 years

One of the fiercest critics of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers directive has stepped down from the Financial Services Authority after 13 years, amid continued uncertainty over the future of the UK watchdog.

Dan Waters, director of conduct risk and asset management sector leader at the FSA, is to leave the watchdog next month, the agency announced yesterday.
