Credit Suisse chief executive Tidjane Thiam was among those from the world of finance paying tribute to Arsène Wenger on Friday after it emerged the manager of Arsenal Football Club is to stand down after 22 years in charge.
Thiam — in the past a vocal critic of the 68-year-old Frenchman — told Financial News: "Wenger has done great things for Arsenal and for football... I wish him well and hope that we, the Arsenal fans, all give him a fantastic farewell."
