Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged MPs to support the post-Brexit trade deal agreed with the EU on Christmas Eve, as officials reunite in the House of Commons for the first time since the festive period.

Addressing MPs before the debate got underway, Johnson said the EU future relationship bill will “open a new chapter in our national story”, permitting the UK to take “control of our laws and our national destiny”.
