The prospects of a bumper bonus round this year look bleak, as firms weather the twin storms of Brexit and Covid-19

With a multitude of pressures and a global recession looming, many financial firms are expected to restrict or cancel bonuses this year.

Setting the tone for what we can expect, the chief executives and other senior executives from NatWest, HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds, Standard Chartered TSB and Santander have already sacrificed some or all of their 2020 bonuses.
