Why Credit Suisse’s Thiam is under greater pressure than his rivals

Deutsche Bank's John Cryan looked like he might have the hardest task and Barclays' Jes Staley is facing issues, but it is the Swiss bank's boss who is losing popularity

When Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse all appointed new chief executives in 2015 there was little doubt who had the most difficult job. John Cryan clearly faced a Herculean task turning around Deutsche Bank.

Yet it is Cryan who now appears to be the most secure. In contrast, thanks largely to self-inflicted wounds, there are question marks over both Jes Staley at Barclays and Tidjane Thiam at Credit Suisse.
