Ken Phillips, former director of marketing at Hermes, a UK asset manager, has died at 40 following a battle with cancer.

Phillips was in the investment business for nearly 20 years and helped Hermes' life assurance division to achieve assets totalling £20bn. He leaves wife Sarah and Bobby, a son by a previous marriage.
