Winterflood bids farewell to the City after 60 years

Brian Winterflood, MBE, life president at broking firm Winterflood Securities, has celebrated his 80 birthday and retirement from the City after more than 60 years by ringing the bell to open the London Stock Exchange.

Flanked by LSE chief executive Xavier Rolet, he said on January 31: “I only wish I was ringing the bell to let myself in, rather than getting me out. But I’m the luckiest man alive.”
