Wintermute opens New York office, hires ex-Ripple manager to lead policy

The crypto market maker is hiring investment management and business development staff in the US

Crypto market making firm Wintermute has opened its US headquarters in New York City to expand in a jurisdiction that has become more crypto-friendly under president Donald Trump.

Wintermute has hired Ron Hammond, the former manager of government relations at Ripple, as its head of policy and advocacy, according to a 15 May announcement.
