Woodford trust loses third director in four months

Exit of Steven Harris leaves board looking for another independent director, who may play a part in a decision to back or sack Woodford

Neil Woodford’s investment trust has lost a third director from its five-person board since May, adding to the sense of upheaval as it battles a tumbling share price and considers replacing its founding manager.

In a stock exchange statement this morning, the Woodford Patient Capital Trust said Steven Harris, a bioscience entrepreneur who is chief executive of one of the companies that used to be in the trust’s portfolio, will step down at the end of September.
