Xavier Rolet will step down as CEO of the London Stock Exchange next year after almost a decade leading the iconic British institution, which he has helped transform into an information and post-trade powerhouse.

Rolet was set to stand down after the completion of the LSE's merger with German rival Deutsche Börse, but that deal was ultimately torpedoed by European regulators in March this year. He has now announced plans to leave by the end of 2018.
