Xerox has elected former Citigroup chief executive Chuck Prince to its board of directors eight months after he stepped down from the bank amid writedowns and thousands of job losses.

Xerox chairman and chief executive Anne Mulcahy called Prince a visionary leader and an asset to the board of the copying products company.
